London’s very own Skepta finally releases his fourth and most anticipated album since 2012, Konnichiwa. The rapper has managed to put British Hip-Hop on the forefront. With advocates like Pharrell & the OVO camp, Skepta has reached a wide audience not just in the UK but outside of it as well. Konnichiwa is a diverse Grime & Hip-Hop fused project, that really gives the listener an insight of Skepta’s different life perspectives. Nonetheless, the project has songs for different occasions. From mosh-pitting songs like That’s Not Me & It Ain’t Safe, to songs for shorty’s such as Text Me Back & Ladies Hit Squad. From listening to the project you can even sense Skepta’s pressure from the music industry & self-doubt , as heard on Corn On The Curb.

Skepta performs at MoMA PS1 on July 25th, 2015, in Long Island City, New York.

The North London Native’s confidence really radiates though, with each track bringing out strong lyricism & even doper beats. The project also has features from Pharrel, A$AP Bari, A$AP Nast, & other English Grime artists like D Double E. Konnichiwa is really a project that will remain at the forefront of Grime Hip-Hop for a long time, as it’s spotlighting the merging scenes of music all around.

Stream the project below, and be on the lookout for young Skepta, it’s definitely his time.
