This year’s BET Awards really stepped up the notch on surprises & performances all around. Many of us who unfortunately didn’t get to attend the show this year were definitely left w/ much FOMO. Opening up the show this past Sunday was no other than the Queen herself, Beyoncé! The show took off as her dancers started to disperse to the stage from the audience, all while a Martin Luther King Jr. speech played in the background. And it literally took on from there. The vibrant outfits, the choreography, the water stage set-up, all contributed to the high energy of the ‘Freedom’ performance. And then when no one thought it could get any better, Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly pops up from the ground to perform his verse from the song.
This could easily be the performance of the year. Check it out for yourself below!
