Back at it again, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne killed the runway shows this season by showcasing their Men/Women Public School SS17 collection. But not only were both dudes busy with a collection of their own, last year they were both announced to be DNKY’s Creative Directors. Full plate indeed, but both collections killed it. They were two of our favorite ones this season. Taking inspiration from one another, peep them out for yourself!
The abundance of oversize outerwear by Public School varied from —coats, shorts, anoraks, with a canvas of mostly black with white, neutral colors and a face cap to pop up outfits. Public School also showcased their newest collaboration. A while back, there was much buzz about collabs with Jordan, the Tumi accessories, but now, it’s a little more technical; their latest partnership is with tech brand Fitbit for the Alta fitness tracker, which the models wore in two redesigned versions.
When we heard Public School’s own founders Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne were named the Creative Directors for DKNY last year, we were super juiced. This season, the models dressed in sporty silhouettes, donned an array of crop tops, tracksuits, bras emblazoned with the brand’s initials, pinstriped suits with loose threads, and anoraks, all of which featured the right blend of laid-black street wear and structured tailoring. Looks were finished off with rubber sock boots and leather fanny packs. It was sexy-yet-sophisticated, with a hint of Public School influence.
