Just five days after his third LP’s release Redemption Jay Rock comes back with new visuals for his track OSOM featuring J.Cole. The video shows the fallout after a heist committed by the two artists and the following anxiety;

Redemption includes collabs with Kendrick Lamar, Jeremih, Future and SZA with Jay Rock hailing it as the album of the year in an interview with Power 106. He then went on to talk about how the track OSOM was born, saying:

“He was at the studio one day and we just crossed paths and I mean he always tell me man we overdue for a record like man we got to get it in”

The video, directed by Dave Free and Jack Begert, sets a dark tone in which Rock and Cole live in constant unease following the apparent heist, climaxing moments before gunfire on the two. The surreal flow of the track plays in tandem with the paranoiac, almost reminiscent of Mind Playing Tricks on Me vibes of the film to create an overall sense of anxiety.

The track is a return for J.Cole after the success of his recent album KOD and like his features with other artists J.Cole again comes across slightly more aggressive and edgy when compared to his own work. Overall the two have created a unique track, complementing both the rest of Redemption and their talent.
